Technology involves the use of tools and methods to accomplish practical goals. It can be as simple as throwing a stone to drive a racoon away and as complex as genetic engineering or artificial intelligence. Advances in technology tend to result in both positive and negative consequences. A failure to anticipate or notice the negative consequences of technological progress is a major factor in the ongoing Collapse of human civilization.
